Thank you for your participation in National Carers Week
Thank you to our community members who participated in our National Carers Week at Mudgeeraba Market Shopping Centre. We’re filled with gratitude and pride for the carers in our community and for everyone who participated in our events.
Across our centre, we came together to celebrate, recognise, and support the incredible Australians who dedicate themselves to providing unpaid care to family members and friends in need. Here’s a look back at the inspiring initiatives from this campaign.
Community of Carers
On Thursday 17th October, shoppers were greeted by our volunteer carers who provided assistance with trolleys, bags, and directions, making the shopping experience just a little easier. Carers in the community were gifted a coffee card as a small token of thanks.
This day of support was made possible by Carelink Support Services, a dedicated NDIS provider working to make a difference in the lives of NDIS participants through personalised plans and compassionate care. With their help, our volunteer team was able to extend a helping hand to carers visiting our centre, creating an environment that embodies the caring spirit we celebrate.
Champion Carer Award
Mudgeeraba Market Shopping Centre was on the hunt for a Champion Carer in our community—someone who goes above and beyond in their caregiving role. After receiving inspiring nominations, we’re thrilled to announce that Matthew Blake was voted the Mudgeeraba Market Champion Carer!
This award comes with a $500 gift card, a small gesture to show our appreciation for their selfless dedication and support.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate and vote for a carer and celebrate the invaluable contributions they make in the lives of others.
National Carers Week is a time to recognize the hard work of the 3 million Australians who provide unpaid care to loved ones. Did you know:
- One in ten Australians serves as an unpaid carer.
- The work that carers provide contributes over $77.9 billion in value each year to Australia’s economy.
- Carers often juggle responsibilities on top of their caregiving roles, with many balancing work, personal obligations, and their own health.
Our campaign may have wrapped up, but our appreciation for carers continues all year round. We’re grateful to all who took part in celebrating National Carers Week and helped us make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who give so much of themselves to care for others.
To our Champion Carer Matthew, and to all the carers in our community—thank you for everything you do.
